SCSU Art and Design Graphics
This project involved designing a collection of Instagram graphics to support the Southern Connecticut State University Art & Design Department’s outreach efforts. The visuals were used to promote student exhibitions, faculty talks, and department-wide events throughout the academic year.
Design Challenges:
The challenge was to create a visual system that could flex across a variety of content—ranging from formal exhibitions to casual event reminders—while still feeling cohesive and on-brand for the department. It also had to stand out on busy Instagram feeds and feel relevant to both students and faculty.
The challenge was to create a visual system that could flex across a variety of content—ranging from formal exhibitions to casual event reminders—while still feeling cohesive and on-brand for the department. It also had to stand out on busy Instagram feeds and feel relevant to both students and faculty.
Solutions:
I developed a modular design system using a consistent grid structure, color palette, and typographic treatments. Each graphic was tailored to its content while maintaining a recognizable style through the use of recurring elements like bold headlines, dynamic compositions, and visual rhythm. I also incorporated student work and faculty imagery when possible to enhance authenticity and engagement.

Result:
The final graphics helped unify the department’s online presence, making it easier for the campus art community to stay informed and inspired. The consistent visual language not only elevated the department’s Instagram page but also strengthened its brand identity across digital platforms.
